iWillAllowIt Privacy Policy
Overview
iWillAllowIt (“the App”) is a family allowance tracking app for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.
The short version: iWillAllowIt does not collect, transmit, or share your personal data. Everything stays on your device.
Information We Collect
Information You Enter
When you use iWillAllowIt, you enter:
- A parent name
- Child names
- Transaction amounts and descriptions
- A parent PIN and optional child PINs
This information is stored only on your device in a local SQLite database. It is never transmitted to us or any third party.
PINs and Security
PINs are never stored in plaintext. They are converted to a one-way SHA-256 hash before being saved. This means even someone with access to your device’s database cannot recover your PIN from the stored data.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or contact information
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or crash reports
- Any data through cookies, pixels, or tracking technologies
How Your Data Is Stored
All app data is stored in a SQLite database on your iPhone. We have no servers and no backend. We cannot access your data under any circumstances.
iCloud Backup
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device (recommended), your app data will be included in your encrypted iCloud Backup. This backup is controlled entirely by you and Apple. We do not have access to your iCloud Backup.
To manage your iCloud Backup settings, go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup on your iPhone.
Third-Party Services
RevenueCat
iWillAllowIt uses RevenueCat to process in-app purchases. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat and Apple handle the transaction. RevenueCat may collect purchase-related data (such as transaction IDs and subscription status) as part of payment processing.
We do not receive your payment details. All payment processing is handled by Apple’s App Store.
For details on RevenueCat’s data practices, see the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Apple App Store
Downloading the App through the Apple App Store is subject to Apple’s privacy policy. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children’s Privacy
iWillAllowIt is a tool for parents to manage their children’s allowances. The App is not directed at children for independent use, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Children interact with the App only through a PIN-protected read-only view that shows their own balance and transaction history. All data entry is performed by the parent. No information entered about children is transmitted outside the device.
If you believe a child under 13 has independently used the App in a way that creates a privacy concern, please contact us at the address below.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data persists on your device until you delete the App or reset it manually. Deleting the App removes all data from your device. There is no cloud backup maintained by us — if you delete the App without an iCloud Backup, your data cannot be recovered.
Data Security
We take the following measures to protect your data:
- PINs are stored as SHA-256 hashes — never in plaintext
- The App makes no network connections during normal operation
- All data resides in a local database protected by iOS app sandboxing
Changes to This Policy
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and post the revised policy at this URL. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
